Who We Are
ChileMontaña is an Adventure Travel Company based in Santiago de Chile, created and operated by Vivianne Cuq and Francisco (Pancho) Medina.
We began guiding mountaineering expeditions and trekking adventures in 1983 and soon realized that there was a whole world of outdoor and cultural experiences waiting to be shared. Since then, we have been living our passion and sharing it with our guests throughout the world. We maintain our major focus on South America, our home, with the endless travel and adventure possibilities of the Chilean, Argentinean, Bolivian and Peruvian Andes.
We offer you a wide range of memorable outdoor experiences in and around the Andes: easy and medium trekking expeditions; demanding mountaineering programs; fascinating overland trips through the Atacama Desert, the Altiplano, and Patagonia; fully guided freeride and backcountry skiing and snowboarding expeditions through the best skiing terrain of the Andes; day trips and short getaways around Chile’s capital Santiago and many more.
All of our adventures cater to small groups in order to ensure a maximum amount of fun and security for every single one of our customers. The majority of our trips are tailor-made and we are happy to create your personal dream holiday or adventure to the most beautiful and fascinating places in South America.
Next to our adventure holidays, we also offer the best mountaineering courses in South America. Pancho Medina, one of the first UIAGM certified mountain guides in South America and also a CAA, NOLS, FASI and AGAM certified instructor, has developed a number of courses that specialize in outdoor education and mountain sports, ranging from climbing courses for beginners over avalanche training seminars to the UIAGM mountain guide examination.
