You dream of experiencing wild and untamed Patagonia? And you love the freedom and flexibility of riding a mountain bike? We put them together for you in one single trip!

Every day you will have the chance to discover another part of these beautiful vast landscapes on your mountain bike. However, if you decide you have had enough or the weather is too bad, our support vehicles will be on hand to transport you and your bike to the next hotel.

The itinerary will take us through the heart of Southern Chilean and Argentinean Patagonia: Torres del Paine and Los Glaciares national parks, Perito Moreno Glacier, Cerro Torre and Cerro Fitz Roy, and much more. Starting in Santiago de Chile and finishing in Buenos Aires, you will also get the opportunity to discover these two bustling capitals with their numerous highlights and unique atmospheres.

The most beautiful season for this trip is the month of March, in the middle of the Southern American fall. During this time, the forests and steppes are flourishing and the spectacular landscapes are illuminated in the most beautiful colors.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Santiago

Arrival at Santiago airport and private transfer to your hotel. You can choose to spend the day exploring Santiago on your own or take our guided bike tour (5 hours) or our guided walking tour (3,5 hours)

Day 2: Santiago – Flight to Punta Arenas

Private transfer to the Santiago airport and flight to Punta Arenas, in the heart of Chilean Patagonia, Magellan Region. At Arrival at Punta Arenas, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will have time for a walk along the city’s waterfront, stretching from one end of town to another. This is a great way to get a sense of just how far south Punta Arenas is. You’re exploring the end of the Earth. In the distance, you can see the island of Tierra del Fuego.

Day 3: Punta Arenas Half-Day Bike Tour – Transfer to Puerto Natales

We spend the morning discovering this city by bicycle, guided by an English speaking local biker, with a 3 hours bike tour. The tour starts with the exploration of the old neighborhoods; Barrio 18 Septiembre and Barrio San Miguel, among others. Then ride to La Cruz Hill viewpoint and the Dreamer's viewpoint, and downtown, visiting the main square, Plaza Muñoz Gamero, where you'll find a statue of the famous Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who discovered the Strait of Magellan. It is an opportunity to learn the history of this strategic region and discover firsthand local culture and people. In the afternoon, our guides will assist you in taking the bus to Puerto Natales (3 hours). You will be met at arrival to Puerto Natales and transferred to your hotel.

Day 4: Full Day Bike Tour - Milodon Cave, Puerto Prat, Puerto Consuelo. Back to Puerto Natales

Today we discover Puerto Natales, Pedro Montt sound, and surroundings riding our bicycles and with support vehicles. The itinerary follows secondary gravel and asphalt roads as well as ranch trails. We visit the Milodon Cave, a national park dedicated to a giant sloth that inhabited the region 10.000 years ago.

Day 5: Full Day Bike Tour - Puerto Natales - Torres Del Paine - Villa Serrano

The day starts with a short transfer by car (30 k) to Ruta 9. Biking day over dirt roads to Torres del Paine National Park. 6 to 7 hours of biking across a landscape made of lakes, mountains, and the Patagonian wild forests. As soon as we approach the national park, we can see the peaks of the Paine Massif: Paine Grande, Cuernos del Paine, The Fortress, and others.

Day 6: Full Day Bike Tour - Villa Serrano - Laguna Azul - Laguna Amarga (Torres Del Paine National Park)

Traverse of the park by car and by bicycle, following trails and dirt roads. Great opportunities to see wildlife. Guanacos (Lama Guanicoe) and a wide variety of birds. At the end of the day, we drive to Laguna Amarga and to your hut.

Day 7: Full Day Bike Tour - Laguna Amarga - Sierra Baguales - Cerro Castillo

Short transfer by car ( 30 k) to Cerro Guido bridge. From there, we start our biking day in Sierra Baguales, following dirty roads and discovering the local farms ( estancias). The farthest point will be Estancia Las Cumbres. 50 to 80 k by bicycle. ( you can decide to do part of the way back by bicycle) At the end of the day, you will be transferred to Castillo, a small town located at the border with Argentina.

Day 8: Cerro Castillo - Calafate

Assistance to take the bus to El Calafate. Transfer by bus to El Calafate (3 to 4 hours). We are now in Argentina at the shores of Lago Argentino in the heart of southern Patagonia. You will be met at arrival to El Calafate and transferred to your hotel. After dropping off the luggage at the lodge, you will have time to visit the village where you can find souvenirs and gifts to bring home and some great restaurants for dinner.

Day 9: El Calafate - Perito Moreno Glacier - El Calafate

Today we go on a shared tour to Los Glaciares National Park, where the Perito Moreno Glacier surpasses all expectations. We will witness the fantastic show of the glacier constantly crashing up against the peninsula and the blocks of ice falling into Lake Argentino Return to El Calafate.

Day 10: Full Day Bike Tour - Discovering A Local Estancia Nearby El Calafate

One of the main features of Patagonia are these huge, private owned plot of land used for sheep or cattle-raising. Home to gauchos, these farms are part of the spirit and culture of the region. Most of them have been kept closed to visitors until now, but a few have opened to guests for horseback riding. Today you will have the opportunity to explore a typical Patagonian estancia following their inner roads and trails by bicycle.

Day 11: El Calafate - Half Day Bike Tour - El Chalten

In the morning, a half-day guided bike tour (15 to 20 k) exploring El Calafate and its surroundings. Riding along the shores of Lake Argentino, we arrive at the archaeological site Walichu caves, a fine example of rupestrian art. In the afternoon, assistance to take the bus for your transfer to El Chalten (3 hours) You will be met at arrival to El Chalten and transferred to your hotel.

Day 12: El Chalten: Self Guided Cerro Torre Trek

You are now in a different area of Los Glaciares National Park, in the southwest of the Santa Cruz region and very close to the Chilean border. El Chalten village is located at the foothill of the Fitzroy massif and gives walking access to the mountains. Today, you can choose to take the easy, but the beautiful and impressive trek from El Chalten to Lake Torre and very close to Cerro Torre (7 hours return). For those who prefer a shorter hike, getting to the Cerro Torre viewpoint would be an excellent alternative (3 hours return).

Day 13: Full Day Bike Tour - El Chalten – Laguna Del Desierto – El Chalten

Biking day. 60 k round trip to Laguna del Desierto following a narrow dirt road through a beautiful landscape: rivers, lagoons, mountains, and forest, green with large patches of red and yellow.

Today, you can choose to take the impressive trek from El Chalten to Laguna de Los Tres and very close to Cerro Fitz Roy (9 hours return). For those who prefer a shorter hike, getting to the beautiful Laguna Capri would be an excellent alternative (4 hours return).

Day 15: El Chalten – Calafate – Buenos Aires

Private transfer to Calafate and flight to Buenos Aires. You will be met at arrival to Buenos Aires and transferred to your hotel.
